Catering Trainee Scheme

Our Catering Trainee Scheme, run by a professionally trained chef at Providence Row not only gives people the chance to learn new skills, build up confidence and gain qualifications, but also offers specialist one-to-one and group work around drug reduction, improved mental health and employment by specially trained support workers.

Who is it for?

Our 10 week Catering Trainee Scheme is available to anyone who has experienced homelessness, temporary accommodation or supported housing in the last three years. Trainees can have support needs around mental health and substance misuse issues.

What’s involved?

Work experience shifts in our kitchen, helping to prepare breakfast and lunch for our clients. This scheme also gives trainees access to a range of development workshops, assistance with CV creation and 1-1 training with a professionally trained chef at Providence Row.

Other Benefits

All trainees will be supported through the scheme by the Providence Row team. You will receive free breakfast, a £5 lunch voucher and access to the Providence Row Resource Centre before each shift.
