Our Christmas Carol Service at St Mary and St Michael's Church on 9 December was a great opportunity to launch both Christmas festivities and our 150th year.
Bishop George Stack led the service. We were happy to welcome our patron, the Duke of Norfolk, into our midst - who also supplied the first reading. Simon Bartley, the Chair of our Board, CEO Jo Ansell and Sister Philomena Bowers, the Congregational Leader of the Union of the Sisters of Mercy also did readings.
English Martyrs Primary School and St Mary and St Michael School School choirs supplied young singers, that were joined by a large crowd of supporters and parents.
Emily Kenway was our soloist, accompanied by Suzy Ruffles on piano. Tony Bullitt played the organ throughout.
Afterwards everyone piled in for refreshments and chat in the church hall. A good time was had by all. Many thanks to Father Tom Quinn for being a delightful host!
