Emergency short term accommodation
The Night Service, our emergency short term accommodation, has become well established over the last year. Funded by the department of Communities and Local Government (CLG), it provides short term accommodation for those waiting to be housed or reconnected back to their home country. This service is for people who have been brought in by outreach teams rather than self-admission.
Night Service is used by Barka and the London Reconnections team as transitional accommodation for people who are returning to Poland or other eastern European countries.
Between April 08 and May 09, 187 people used this service before moving on more permanent accommodation or reconnection to their home country.
The Providence Row Night Service was established in 2008, developed from a short term pilot to an established service supported by government funding.
