The Needle Exchange Coordinator sits within the Reset Outreach & Referral Service, is based at the central hub and is a partnership delivered by Providence Row. The service is commissioned by Tower Hamlets Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) to work seamlessly with Reset Treatment and Reset Recovery Support Services providing residents of Tower Hamlets with the drug and alcohol support they need.
The service is delivered through an outreach model to have contact with 1200 people a year (100 a month), to refer 15 people per month in to treatment and support 10 people per month in to treatment.
The Needle Exchange Service works with clients using a “strengths based” approach and is a vital first point of access to support and engage clients to address their needs.
We are looking for enthusiastic people who are keen to play a crucial role in engaging the people we work with to access services that will help them make better and safer decisions about their substance use as well as developing the service into a model of best practice.
The ideal candidate
Passionate about providing quality support to some of the most vulnerable and excluded people in East London. You will have the drive and ambition to support your team to make positive lasting changes in people’s lives.
You will have experience in delivering needle exchange as well as an excellent knowledge of substance misuse support services. Expert in engaging through a low threshold service and a strong understanding of how other factors such as rough sleeping and mental health issues can impact a person health and wellbeing. You will live out our values in your approach to your work.
