Elizabeth Canning - Chair
Elizabeth has been on the board since 1995 and took over as Chair in December 2014. She is a Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer of Pershing Ltd, an affiliate of Pershing, a BNY Mellon company. She has held senior compliance roles at Bank of America, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley.
Richard Solomon - Treasurer
Richard Solomon is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. He is the Finance Director of St Mary's University, Twickenham. Previous roles include being Chief Accountant at RBS, Audit Partner with Ernst & Young LLP and Audit Director at Deloitte.
Rita Chakraborty - Chair of the Fundraising Sub-Committee
Rita Chakraborty joined the Board of Trustees in 2005. Rita was the Deputy Secretary to the Foundation Trust, Queen Victoria Hospital until 2013. She has previously worked in fundraising and is currently taking time out from full time work to care for her young daughter.
Paul Strange is the Training and Organisational Development Manager at Bromley Primary Care Trust. Paul has also been a Project Manager at CIPD and a General Manager with BPP and with Malpas. Paul joined the board in 2006.
Sister Evelyn Gallagher
Sister Evelyn Gallagher joined the board in 2010 and represents the Union of the Sisters of Mercy – ensuring we maintain a strong link with the Order. Evelyn was a Secondary School teacher for 30 years and has provided ministry in a number of parishes. She is also a Trustee of the Sisters of Mercy Congregation.
Jonathan RhodesJonathan Rhodes joined the board in 2013. He is the Director, Head of Valuation & Capital Markets at the property consultancy GL Hearn. Jonathan is an elected professional member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. His previous roles were with DTZ/Donaldsons, Chesterton and Edward Erdman/Colliers CRE.
Simon CribbensSimon Cribbens joined the board in 2013. Simon is currently the Housing and Social Care Policy Manager at the Corporation of the City of London. Previously, he was the Senior Policy Officer for Housing at the Greater London Authority.
Linda McHughesLinda joined the board in 2013. Linda is a Parole Commissioner for the Northern Ireland Office and was a Trustee at NACRO for 7 years prior to joining the Providence Row Board. Linda has set up and run a number of successful small businesses.
Gavin MullenGavin Mullen joined the board in 2016. He is a solicitor and is currently Managing Counsel at The Bank of New York Mellon. He was previously Legal Advisor at M&G Limited.
Bishop Nicholas Hudson
Nicholas Hudson joined the board in 2017 as a nominee of the Archbishop of Westminster. Nicholas has been since 2014 an Auxiliary Bishop in the Diocese of Westminster with responsibilities for the Central and Eastern Areas. He is also a board member of the Cardinal Hume Centre.
Tom O'Connor - Our CEO
Tom O’Connor joined Providence Row as CEO in May 2017. He was a director at CAFOD (an international development agency) where he worked for thirteen years. Before moving into the charity sector Tom worked in the recruitment industry and previous to that spent nine years as a Catholic priest in the diocese of Northampton.
