We have all become aware of our vulnerability in recent weeks. A virus has completely changed our routines and put the lives of those closest to us at risk. As always, challenging times have shown the kindness and generosity of so many people. As we pause and reflect, it is obvious that we really do care for one another and especially for those who are now most in need.
Providence Row has served the most vulnerable people in society since 1860 and, with great sadness and regret, we have now had to temporarily close our Day Centre in East London as the COVID-19 outbreak continues. But our work goes on, and we are in regular contact with our clients to offer support, advice and encouragement. Many are fearful and anxious, unsure of what will happen next and we are determined that none will feel abandoned or alone. Many have made great strides forward in overcoming addictions and traumatic experiences. We are doing our very best to ensure that their progress is sustained, through the coming weeks and months.
