“I realise I love baking because it’s very therapeutic. It makes everything slow down, and has given me confidence in myself.”

Such a lovely and uplifting affirmation from Bella*, one of our Rise Bakery trainees.

Not everyone knows that we have an amazing social enterprise bakery just off Brick Lane called Rise.

Under the supervision of trained chefs, our bakery offers accredited training and employment support for people affected by homelessness. All of the money raised from selling brownies is invested back into our training schemes.

We run 4 training schemes a year with a maximum of 5 trainees registered at a time. Trainees complete the Level 2 qualification in food hygiene and safety, which is often required when applying for a job within the catering industry.

Our award-winning brownies are fudgey on the inside, crisp on the outside – just as a brownie should be. There’s a variety of flavours to choose from such as white chocolate and raspberry, double chocolate and orange and coconut blondie.

Producing scrumptious baked goods is part of our greater mission to provide jobs and training to people affected by homelessness. Through our ground-breaking open-door policy, anyone who wants to learn about baking is given the chance, regardless of educational background, work history, or past social barriers, such as homelessness or substance use.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, our delicious chocolate brownie gift boxes are the perfect way to surprise and treat your favourite person…. with the added bonus that all the profits go to a great cause.

You can order them via our Rise website: www.risebakery.london

Happy Valentine’s Day…

Love,

Rise and Providence Row
