Our hopes for 2020

The mornings are still dark, the days are short and the temperatures are low.

Although we are still in the throes of winter, our charity is brimming with hope as we enter a brand new decade.

We have an incredibly busy year ahead and all departments at Providence Row are heading into 2020 at full steam.

2020 is a special one for us as we mark 160 years since our inception. Over the last 160 years, with the help of our patrons, staff and volunteers, we have supported thousands of people affected by homelessness in London.

While we want to celebrate all that we have achieved, we are mindful that there are still countless more people that need our special support. Our vision is that everyone has a safe home and a community in which to belong.

Our mission is to accompany more people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness on their journey, especially those who are more vulnerable and are least likely to access services elsewhere. In addition, we want to continue to offer a range of services that support people from times of crisis through to when support is no longer needed.

We hope that you will join our community during what will be a very special year for Providence Row. There will be lots of great community fundraising events, where everyone can get involved and help to raise money while having fun along the way. Our fundraising team is currently busy organising a calendar of events. Watch this space!

In the meantime, we wish you a wonderful new year. Our hope for this decade is for greater humanity and compassion for people experiencing homelessness.

Every act of kindness makes a difference, particularly to people experiencing homelessness. With the challenges we face in the world right now, we need to come together in our families, communities, workplaces and faith groups.
