Rise Bakery wins second Great Taste Award for White Chocolate, Orange and Coconut Blondie | Providence Row

By Joanna, Marketing and PR Volunteer

For the second year in a row, Rise Bakery - Providence Row’s award-winning social enterprise - has picked up a coveted Great Taste Award. Rise Bakery, the charity’s online brownie gift-box social enterprise which trains homeless and ex-homeless men and women to bake, learned on 1 August that their newest product had been awarded a one star award by the Guild of Fine Foods.

The tempting white chocolate, orange and coconut blondie - which is available from www.risebakery.london in boxes of four or eight - has only been on sale a few months. It was developed in early 2017 by chef Andrea Eleuteri. The blondie joins the Raspberry and White Chocolate Brownie as the second one of Rise’s products to win a one star award, meaning judges have declared them both to be ‘simply delicious’.

Great Taste is widely acknowledged as the most respected food accreditation scheme for artisan and speciality food producers. Judged by over 500 of the most demanding palates, belonging to food critics, chefs,  restaurateurs and producers, as well as a whole host of food writers and journalists, the Great Taste Awards offer a prestigious badge of honour for the winners and a clear sign to consumers that they are choosing a high quality product.

Dom Gates, Enterprise and Training Manager at Providence Row said: “The Great Taste Award means confirmation that our products look and taste great and that our deserving customers are getting a quality product.  It highlights the skill and achievement of our talented  Rise Trainees and is a testament to their hard work.”

Rise Bakery will be celebrating the win with a week-long flash sale on boxes of the White Chocolate, Orange and Coconut Blondies. Just use the discount code BLONDIE to receive 15% off your purchase until the end of August.
