Providence Row has received a Big Lottery Fund Grant of £438,838 | Providence Row
Providence Row has received a Big Lottery Fund grant. The charity has been given £438,838 to part-fund their Learning and Wellbeing Programme over the next four years, which aims to run a range of creative, educational, physical and mental health activities as a means to support people who have experienced homelessness as well as issues ranging from substance use to loneliness to explore and fulfil their potential.

The programme also focusses on supporting participants to sustain their tenancies as well as manage their money effectively.

The Learning and Wellbeing Programme is made up of a range of sessions including art, film, IT, music and English as well as groups aimed at improving people’s overall wellbeing including acupuncture, massage and counselling. The programme has been running for more than 4 years now and has supported more than 1,000 people affected by homelessness during that time.

Providence Row's other services, which include housing, recovery and employment and training support for homeless and vulnerably housed people, tackle the root causes of homelessness to help people get off, and stay off, the streets.

Commenting on the grant, CEO Tom O’Connor said: “We are incredibly grateful to The Big Lottery Fund for supporting this scheme. Our Learning and Wellbeing programme offers real opportunities for our clients to build on their skills, knowledge and confidence, helping them turn their lives around.”
