Your Volunteer Journey
The volunteering journey is very much a two-way process; you will find out if volunteering with us is right for you as well as finding the right fit for us. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping out & making a difference to those experiencing homelessness, you will be well supported throughout & will also have chance to ask questions at every stage.
Stage One: Complete the application form, if you have any issues with this or would like some support, drop a email to the volunteer manager [email protected] - The volunteer manager will send you an email within a week of receiving your application & arrange a call
Stage Two: Phone call, during this call you will find out more about the role and the day centre, you will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We’ll ask what you are looking for & anything you hope to gain from volunteering & any experiences or particular interests you have. We will also book you in for a tour. The call will be 10-20 minutes long
Stage Three: You will come along to the centre for a tour. We will show you around the day centre & you will have the opportunity to meet the team you will be volunteering with. Seeing the day centre will also give you a chance to get a better idea of your role. We will either book you in for your taster day during the tour, or we will arrange this over email, depending on what’s best for you at the time
Stage Four: You will come along for you taster day, this will be the chance to get involved a do a volunteer shift in your chosen section. If you are interested in more than one area you can book tasters days for as many sections as you like. After your session the volunteer manager will check in with you & ask how your session went. If you are happy to continue, you will discuss which days & times suit you and arrange your next shift with us. Or we’ll book you for a taster day in another section.
