On becoming a member of our stakeholder pension scheme, you are required to contribute a minimum of 4% of your gross salary, which is paid directly to the pension provider through our payroll provider. We will then add an employer contribution equalling 3% of your gross salary and you will benefit from 1% tax relief. To find out more about the Pension scheme please refer to your Pension welcome pack which you should receive from our pension provider when you are auto enrolled. If further information is required you can speak to a member of the Finance team.

Annual leave

Our leave year runs from 1st April to 31st March. All full-time employees are entitled to 27 days’ annual leave (plus statutory bank holidays) per annum.

After 5 years’ service, your annual leave entitlement will increase by 2 days (pro-rata for part time employees). Following this, you’ll receive an extra day of annual leave each year up to 9 years of service, which will take your annual leave entitlement to 32 days per annum (pro rata for part time employees).

In normal circumstances annual leave will only be granted for a maximum of 3 weeks in any one period. However, every consideration will be given to those staff wishing to travel long distances to see family, for example.

You must have approval to take annual leave. You should not make holiday arrangements e.g. book flights and/or hotels, prior to obtaining this approval. Your Line Manager will always need to consider the needs of the Charity before approving any request for annual leave. Please aim to give your manager at least four weeks’ notice to make it easier for them to agree to your request.

Employee Assistance Programme benefit

We use an external company called Enlighten which offers counselling and support for staff. Any member of staff can access this benefit.

Bicycle Scheme

We’re part of the Cycle to Work salary sacrifice scheme with Evans Cycles.

You may request a certificate (up to the value of one month’s net salary) which can be spent on bikes and accessories within an approved store. The value of the certificate will be deducted from your gross salary in 12 monthly instalments.

Season Tickets

Providence Row will provide a loan to an employee for the purpose of purchasing an annual season ticket to facilitate travel between work and home by public transport. The loan will not cover other travel costs, for example costs associated with the use of a car for getting to and from a train station, such as parking costs.

Group Life Assurance

Providence Row have an insurance scheme with MetLife that provides a tax-free lump sum to an employee’s nominated dependants if the employee dies while covered by the policy. This is paid out at three times an employee’s salary at the time of the claim.
