Helping people reconnect with a former home area | Providence Row

A supported reconnection is where someone returns to their home country or home area within the UK with our help. They will often have a far better chance of finding accommodation and services in these areas.

We can help with a supported reconnection by paying for a person's journey home but also by supporting them as they re-build relationships with family. Many of the people we work with express a feeling of failure attached to being homeless and returning home when they came to the UK to seek a better a life. They may also have lost touch with their families since becoming homeless. We also help people to find short term emergency accommodation for the period in between deciding to go home and actually returning so that they do not have to sleep on the streets any longer.
