Michael , our Progression and Training Manager, plays a vital role in reintegrating our clients into work, guiding them on a path away from homelessness. Having faced his own struggles with homelessness and addiction 15 years ago, Michael uses his personal journey to advocate for our clients and provide them with hope for a better future. His story is a testament to the fact that with the right support and encouragement, anything is achievable.
"Some of our clients may have never achieved anything in their life and acknowledging that they have completed the garden trainee scheme, can be so powerful. It gives them the sense of belief that they did this on their own and no body can take that away from them. Our clients will always have something to be proud of and for many, they’re looking at what they can achieve next. At the end of each programme we celebrate with a graduation ceremony. Our clients are awarded a certificate, something many have never ever received before. To be a part of such a wonderful success is a real honour. Having walked in the shoes of our clients before, I can really empathise and it helps to build trust and a network of support. I often say, if I can change my life around, then so can you and that is the truth. I always had hope and a passion to turn my life around, something I can share with our clients and show them that there are people who care, who will support them on their journey to a new life away from the streets.”
